A Taste of Hilo

This committee coordinates the annual A Taste of Hilo event that showcases more than 30 of the island’s tastemakers and beverage purveyors. Attendees enjoy sweet and savory delights created by chefs, restaurants, and patisseries, and sample locally crafted beer, wine, and sake.

A Taste of Hilo is a fundraiser for Hawaiʻi Community College. Over the years, the Chamber has donated to Hawaiʻi Community College for scholarships, facility improvements, and program development. Culinary students participate by hosting a food station and assisting our local chefs at their respective booths. While student leaders from the HawCC Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society provide additional hands-on support during the event.
